Dragonfly

This week in art class, we drew a dragonfly in pencil on drawing paper. Then we transferred our drawings onto heavier watercolor paper and painted our dragonflies with colorful watercolor paint. Great job!

Fruit Still Life

Today in art class, the students used the comparative method of drawing to draw a fruit still life in charcoal on canvas paper. Then they painted their fruit drawings with colorful acrylic paint. Sweet! Scroll through the slideshow to see a finished fruit still life painting.

Giraffes

This week we were on Safari! We drew 2 giraffes, colored them with colored pencils, and put a giraffe-print cardstock frame around the edges for a finish. Awesome! Scroll through the slideshow to see the students working on their giraffe drawings.

Ducks

This week the students used the sight-size method of drawing at the easels to draw a duck in graphite on white paper. Then they transferred their drawings onto watercolor paper and painted their ducks in watercolor paint. Lovely! Scroll through the slideshow to see a duck watercolor painting.

Spring is on it’s way! This week in art class, the students drew a robin in pencil on drawing paper. Then they transferred their drawings onto heavier watercolor paper and painted their drawings with colorful watercolor paint. Great job!

Swan

Swans were our inspiration in art class this week! The students used the sight-size method of drawing at the easels to draw a swan in graphite on white paper. Flowers

We’re already dreaming of spring, and this week we drew beautiful flowers! The students used the comparative method of drawing to draw a flower large-scale on a piece of black paper. Tropical Fish

This week in art class, the students used the sight-size method of drawing at the easels to draw a tropical fish and coral in white pastel pencil on black paper.  Then they colored their tropical underwater scenes with oil pastels.  Stunning!

Owl
