Blossoms

As I am looking forward to spring, our classroom this week was bursting with blossoms! Taking a cue from the artist Georgia O’Keeffe, the students zoomed in on blooms, drawing sections of closely cropped flowers. They drew the flower on a large scale with white pastel pencil on 11 by 14 inch black posterboard. Then they used oil pastels in delicious colors and layered color upon color, resulting in rich hues. Stunning! Scroll through the slideshow to see the students at work.
