Fruit Still Life

Today in art class, the students used the comparative method of drawing to draw a fruit still life in pencil on canvas paper. Then they painted their fruit drawings with colorful acrylic paint. Sweet! Scroll through the slideshow to see a finished fruit still life painting.

Butterfly

Butterflies were our inspiration in art class today!  The students used the sight-size method of drawing at the easels to draw a butterfly in white pastel pencil on black paper. Toucans

This week the students used the sight-size method of drawing at the easels and drew a toucan in pencil on drawing paper. Then they transferred their drawings onto heavier watercolor paper and painted their drawings with colorful watercolor paint. Pears

Dog Portrait

Flowers

We’re ready for summer, and this week we drew beautiful flowers! The students used the comparative method of drawing to draw a flower large-scale on a piece of black paper.
