Candle

It’s the Christmas season, and this week the students painted a painting inspired by the lights and candles of the season. They painted a candle shaped into a stained glass window in acrylic paint on canvas. Great job!

Flower

This week we drew beautiful flowers! The students used the comparative method of drawing to draw a flower large-scale on a piece of colored paper. Sailboat

On our last few warm days before fall, the students painted a sailboat in acrylic paint on canvas. Scroll through the slideshow to see a finished sailboat painting. Looks great!

Pears

Using our sight-size method of drawing at the easels, the kids sketched 2 pears with charcoal on primed canvas and then painted the pears with acrylic paints. Great job!

Portrait Drawing

Hand Drawing

This week the middle school students had the challenge of drawing hands. They worked on the shapes and proportions of the hand as well as shading. Using the sight-size method, they drew a hand in graphite on drawing paper. Wow!  Scroll through the slideshow to see the students at work.
